The world of search is constantly changing. Over the last several years, Google and other search engines have continued to revise and fine-tune their algorithms at a rapid pace. Making sense of those changes takes experience, knowledge and the right connections.
With that in mind, we’ve assembled an SEO Advisory Board that consults with us on changes within search, allowing us to stay ahead of the curve. Our two experts—Bill Hunt and Chris Silver Smith—know search engines inside and out. In conjunction with our in-house lawyer SEO consultants and constant analysis of search engine dynamics, FindLaw has a winning formula when it comes to optimizing websites for peak performance.
Bill Hunt is an internationally recognized search marketing expert who has spoken at conferences in more than 30 countries. Press members, industry analysts and corporate leaders frequently seek his advice to effectively leverage enterprise and global search marketing and social media strategies.
Hunt was previously CEO of two of the largest global search marketing firms, Global Strategies and Outrider. He grew the companies into highly respected market leaders, overseeing their expansion and providing strategic search marketing services for such Fortune 100 companies as Adobe, Cisco, IBM, Intel, Nestle, P&G and Zurich Financial. He is also the coauthor of the best-selling book Search Engine Marketing, Inc.: Driving Traffic to Your Company’s Web Site.
Hunt earned a B.A. in Asian Studies/Japanese, from the University of Maryland, Tokyo Campus, and a B.S. in International Business from California State University, Los Angeles and is pursuing his MBA. He is also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
CHRIS SILVER SMITH
Chris Silver Smith is the founder and president of Argent Media, a search engine marketing agency that provides SEO consulting, local search optimization, social media management and online reputation repair. His key areas of expertise include SEO, local search, mapping, Internet technology, image search, shopping search optimization and social media optimization.
Chris previously served as also served as director of optimization strategies for search marketing agency KeyRelevance, and as head of the Technology department for Verizon’s Superpages.com sites, leading teams focused on taxonomy, data quality, map development, cobranding, UI design and analytics. While at Verizon, he initiated research to maximize referral traffic from search engines as far back as 1997. This work eventually formed the foundation of extensive SEO projects for the Superpages.com sites.
He also has worked on search optimization, social media optimization and online reputation management projects for a number of Internet Retailer 500 and Fortune 500 companies. Chris frequently speaks at search marketing conferences and is a regular columnist for Search Engine Land. He blogs at AG Search Blog and NodalBits.
