Welcome to another post from our “Meet the FindLaw Team” series. “Meet the FindLaw Team” provides insight into the day-to-day lives of our colleagues. Today we feature FindLaw Web Designer Theresa Petri. Get to know Theresa by reading about her experiences at FindLaw below.

What is your current title?
I am a Web Designer II Agile Fulfillment.

When did you join the FindLaw team and how did you get here?
I joined FindLaw back in August 2012, so I’ve been here a little over a year. Going back, I attended college at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design where I received my degree in advertising and design. After graduating in 2008, I went from working for one of the largest event companies in Minnesota, to the largest power sports dealership in the Midwest. So, you could say I’ve definitely had a variety of job experiences.

It was actually a connection I had back at the dealership who told me about an opportunity over here at FindLaw. The funny thing is that before college, I was actually debating between going to art school or law school. So when I first learned about the company, it was music to my ears. I am so thrilled and so fortunate to have come to this company where I could blend two passions together and work with such wonderful people. I hit the ground running when I walked in, and it’s been a great experience ever since.

What interests you most about lawyer marketing or your functional area?
My favorite part about this job is having the ability to interpret and translate a client’s ideas into a smashing design. As a designer, I am creating the “front door” to these law firms’s businesses, so I put a lot of care and effort into each and every project. There is no better reward than the satisfaction of a thrilled customer and the positive results that follow.

What activities does your work day typically involve?
There really is no such thing as a typical work day — that’s the best part. Daily agendas could include consulting with a client about his or her new design, training new hires in multiple departments, covering tasks for other designers while they’re out, or planning special events. Outside of designing websites, we always have our hands buried in all sorts of projects.

What are your interests outside of FindLaw?
Outside of FindLaw, I love to speed around town on my sportbike (my pink helmet with a Mohawk and spikes is hard to miss). And depending on the time of year, I absolutely love the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Even though things are always pretty busy, both at work and at home, I always make time for family and good friends who truly make my life amazing.
