Welcome to another post from our “Meet the FindLaw Team” series. “Meet the FindLaw Team” provides insight into the day-to-day lives of our colleagues. Today we feature FindLaw Web Designer Brittney Shada. Get to know Brittney reading about her experiences at FindLaw below.

What is your current title?
Web Designer

When did you join the FindLaw team/how did you get here?
My sister-in-law, a Web Designer at FindLaw, informed me of an upcoming internship opportunity. After learning about the company through a shadowing experience, I knew this was an opportunity I wanted to be a part of. I interviewed and was offered a position as a summer intern, beginning in May of 2008. After the three-month internship, I knew FindLaw was where I wanted to be and accepted the full-time position, starting in September of 2008.

What interests you most about lawyer marketing or your functional area?
I enjoy the variety that comes with my role. Each of the lawyers that I work with has different ideas and perspectives, allowing me to provide something unique with each design. I have a strong passion for design and get to spend my work day being creative while helping lawyers expand their businesses. The world of Web design, as well as the legal field, is changing everyday and it is exciting to be a part of such a fast growing market.

What activities does your work day typically involve?
Most of my work day includes designing or revising prototypes. A portion of my day also includes speaking with clients, either gathering information about their marketing needs or receiving feedback on a proposed design that I have created for them. When opportunities arise, I am involved in working cross-functionally to develop new products and improve current processes. I spend any spare time researching design trends and Photoshop tools to ensure I am giving our clients a unique, modern, and user-friendly website that they can be proud of.

What are your interests outside of FindLaw?
I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my husband, family, and friends. I like to be outdoors, on the lake, camping, snowboarding, and playing softball. I also enjoy working on home-improvement projects, exercising and shopping!
