Welcome to another post from our “Meet the FindLaw Team ” series. “Meet the FindLaw Team” provides insight into the day-to-day lives of our colleagues. Today we feature FindLaw Project Manager Amanda Katz. Get to know Amanda by reading about her experiences at FindLaw below.

What is your current title?
Project Manager

When did you join the FindLaw team and how did you get here?
I joined FindLaw in the summer of 2008 as a project management intern in the Subscription Services department. In my almost five years here at FindLaw, I have held several project management and account management positions which have led me to my current role as a project manager on the Initial Fulfillment team. Prior to FindLaw, I studied technical communication at the University of Wisconsin, Stout.

As a requirement of the program I needed to complete a paid internship. With some research and guidance, I found the FindLaw internship program. I was highly impressed with the company and when asked if I would stay on full-time, I happily agreed.

What interests you most about lawyer marketing?
I enjoy the fast-paced environment of the project management world here. Our products and processes are constantly evolving which keeps me on my toes and certainly keeps me interested. The phrase “you learn something new every day” does not do it justice. I learn several new things every day about Internet marketing, technology, product fulfillment, process improvement and more.

What activities does your work day typically involve?
A day in my life at FindLaw is filled with all types of interesting tasks. I am often found collaborating with teams and working closely together to build effective, strategic online solutions for our attorney and law firm clients. Everyday activities include communicating with clients, facilitating conference calls with clients to discuss strategy for their online properties, managing work flow, participating in creative internal projects and training new hires.

What are your interests outside of FindLaw?
I enjoy cooking and, in particular, baking. Trying a new recipe and sharing the end product with others is just about my most favorite thing to do. On a regular basis you can find me playing with my two yellow labs, watching football and hockey (though I wish the NHL lockout would end) and participating in team sports like volleyball, boot hockey and softball.
