Welcome to another post from our “Meet the FindLaw Team” series. “Meet the FindLaw Team” provides insight into the day-to-day lives of our colleagues. Today we feature FindLaw Article Writer Dana Patel. Get to know Dana by reading about her experiences at FindLaw below.

What is your current title?

I am an Article Writer II.

When did you join the FindLaw team and how did you get here?

My interest in joining the FindLaw team was sparked after a friend from law school recommended that I apply. I was offered a spot as a contractor on the article writing team in December of 2011. About eight months later I was offered a position as a full-time employee on the team.

What interests you most about lawyer marketing or your functional area?

I am drawn to the fact that my position impacts how society views the law. I write articles that are designed to tie a current event to local laws by creatively explaining the law in a manner that the general public will find engaging. As a result, these articles are intended to impact what the public knows about the law. It is my hope that the articles I write also provide those in need of legal assistance with a basic understanding of how the law may impact their situation.

What activities does your work day typically involve?

I research and write articles that apply legal principles to current events. I also publish articles online.

What are your interests outside of FindLaw?

I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two young boys, and my dog. We like to hike, travel, and experience the great outdoors.
