Welcome to another post from our “Meet the FindLaw Team” series. “Meet the FindLaw Team” provides insight into the day-to-day lives of our colleagues. Today we feature FindLaw Blog Writer Dennis Jansen. Get to know Dennis by reading about his experiences at FindLaw below.
What is your current title?
Blog Writer II
When did you join the FindLaw team/how did you get here?
I joined FindLaw on Valentine’s Day of 2011 from West, where I was a Legal Associate in the Legal Editorial Operations Division.
What interests you most about lawyer marketing or your functional area?
I am fascinated by the many ways that attorneys use FindLaw products to establish their personal brands and position themselves as experts in niche markets. The blog writing team helps attorneys maintain high online visibility for their FirmSites and provides a platform for attorneys to effectively engage potential clients.
What activities does your work day typically involve?
The majority of my work day involves researching and writing for attorney blogs. I also write category recommendations which help optimize new blogs for search engines and create initial content that creates the foundation for newly launched blogs.
What are your interests outside of FindLaw?
I try to get the most out of Minnesota’s precious few warm months by bike-commuting to Eagan from Uptown Minneapolis and by rollerblading around Lake Calhoun. The rest of my time is monopolized by Gertrude, my Rottweiler, and Harley-Scalia, my Bullmastiff. You can usually find the dogs walking me around the state parks on the weekends.
