FindLaw took part in LegalTech 2011 in New York last week.

FindLaw highlighted a key product, FirmSite Premium, with the tech-savvy legal crowd at the Hilton New York. Karl Florida, president of FindLaw, discussed the product and the use of new technologies in legal practice management.

“We’re excited to be at LegalTech to demonstrate how FindLaw helps power the comprehensive suite of Thomson Reuters Business of Law solutions that help law firms manage their practices,” Florida said from the conference.

Florida attended Legal Tech as the event offers law firms and legal departments the opportunity to monitor the evolving industry and to improve their law practice management.

So what was big this year at Legal Tech 2011? Cloud and mobile.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in cloud computing, we’re seeing mobile become part of the legal technology landscape for real, and we’re seeing a lot of interest in social media,” Florida said. “So law firms are wrestling with how social media affects their practice and also their marketing.”

Florida said FindLaw’s presence at LegalTech was a success.

“There definitely has been a lot of great traffic to the Business of Law booth in general, and there is good energy at the show this year,” he said. “It was great to get to know more of our Thomson Reuters colleagues better, meet prospective customers, and learn more about trends capturing attendees’ interests this year. I’m already looking forward to next year’s show.”
